The Club have released more details of the new Booking System here

There are still finer details still to be arrived but the link (thanks Harry) sets out how the new system will work.

I have closed the previous thread on when we will get details of the new booking system and opened this one to allow comments specifically on the new system rather than discussing what they might be.

The simple answer is don't try to fix what isn't broken, the system of booking a standard pitch and choosing a pitch when you arrive has worked perfectly well and is fair to everyone, you have the choice of what's available on the day.

..but the decision has already been made...I'm just trying to establish there's a sensible way of only including saleable product at all times of the year...

Well they don't need it for life members do they? Although for some a direct debit saves £10 on the annual fee rather than paying by card annually. Others have insurance direct debits too, direct debits usually offer a cash incentive to reduce work input, banking fees etc.

Incidentally all the jiggling with credit cards for a few extra points, rewards etc mentioned by some might mean they are actually losing £10!

Brue, just a bit of info on membership payment: we aren't life members, but CAMC don't have our DD details.  Neither do they have our credit card details.  We pay by credit card when membership payment is due, but haven't got it set up as a recurring annual payment.  As far as we're concerned, the less companies etc that have those details, the better.  As well as that, if for some reason we didn't want to renew membership, there's no chance of payment being made inadvertently.  Although of course we do have DDs for regular payments like you describe.  But it doesn't cost an extra £10 to pay the annual fee by credit card; I do know that's the case with the C&CC though.

Off topic I know wink

Since when has the ccc been This club  I would have said That club if I was talking about the ccc ,surprisedwink

JVB, what you said was "It does seem that the ccc do have more staff on their sites than this club". Now the only way that can be read is that the CC, i.e. this club has less staff on their sites than the C&CC club, so my question to you about recruitment and retaining staff was pertinent.

In my experience it just might be that the ccc do a lot more faffing around than than the camc who I have found to be far more professional, efficient and helpful

JK is an expert in double Dutch it seems!

Please explain in plain English. All I did was quote you and what you said in English was that the ccc have more staff than this club ( meaning the CC club).

I doubt that even a crytograher such as Ian Goldberg could decipher our last sentence above.

I have no dog in this fight but feel that the post telling me that “I.Sip.e Turms” has lightened the winter darkness. All is now clear. Splendid explanation

Ina, I had looked at the "become a member" section and membership is £10  less if you join via direct debit.

Have another look, membership is the same wether you pay by card or direct debit. £10 joining fee is waived if you pay by direct debit

Yes, but it's still £10 less if its by DD isn't it? £54 or £64.

I was pointing this out to those who say they save by using a credt or debit card eg rewards, points or cash back for a one off payment.

However this is nothing to do with the new booking system but is a way of saving costs.
