The Club have released more details of the new Booking System here

There are still finer details still to be arrived but the link (thanks Harry) sets out how the new system will work.

I have closed the previous thread on when we will get details of the new booking system and opened this one to allow comments specifically on the new system rather than discussing what they might be.

I've just booked one as a member but with the other club as I preferred their location.

Think about it, if other providers offer static accommodation and CAMC doesn't, then come the day this club could lose out to other providers. We want to see CAMC survive, don't we?

If what you say is the future there won't be a CAMC the club will need to rebrand as just another holiday site provider.

That's pretty much what it is now so rebranding won't be necessary.

Pods and glamping are no replacement for touring with your own Caravan or MH they are just another sign that the club is diverting from its core values and business as a member based organisation providing touring sites for its members.

I have toured in ten countries without a caravan or motorhome - it’s fine - even sometimes using buses and trains without  a car. That was always staying in B&Bs, small hotels, hostels, motels and so on. I never thought that caravans and motorhomes were the only way of touring, but “pods” never appealed to me in the least. I don’t see any attraction at all.

Personally I think  if they cant survive without becoming just another static park provider why should we care?

As an aside  if they do see themselves as a player in this field they will need to offer more than statics or pods in the middle of nowhere without the facility of pools restaurants etc

But then when many other  pitch providers are installing  pods and other types of accommodation, very few have any other "Entertainment?" why should the two big pitch provider clubs need to

They may in years to come, cull some of  the sites that are not as busy or in areas that are less attractive to be viable

Who cleans the static, glamp tent, pod, teepee, whatever between visitors?  And to what standard? If it is done properly it must incur a huge cost, especially when people want to use them for one or two nights for "touring" rather than long term stays.

The only people who will be paying for it are the users, of course.

"For us though they would allow family members without an RV to meet up on site"

yes a big plus from us, we regularly use a site in Devon staying 1 month, not club, that has approx 40 static caravans and a handful of glamping pods, already for this year we have  people coming to visit who will stay in the static caravans, it means you can all relax take in the air, and the area, use the swimming pool etc and at the end of the day not worry as to who is going to drive home, or cook, the local Indian does a fantastic take-away.     laughing
