Exploiting the members

Why is it necessary for the club sites to seek excessive profits on  school holidays. My son has booked a pitch at Brecon beacon site for the Easter holidays. Cost per night for 2 adults and 1 child  £37.80 per night. The following week it would have been £ 27.95. What extra costs does the running of the site between the 2 weeks. .Nothing just exploiting the members because of the school holidays. Yet another excuse to make more money from the members when we already pay a membership fee.

I'm just trying to be helpful JVB.

The old system and it's unique usp won't be coming back.

The new system will be easier overall than you're imagining.

I don't see anything major to get stressed over.

Enjoy FM & happy birthday.

JK

No exploitation eitherwink

We are already booked into next year and hopefully will be able to honour them  all ,I am just trying to maintain a another scenario that it seems many including those who thought up the idea of the throwing away this clubs USP, do not really understand or acknowledge how many the deposits system will affect surprised,

"do not really understand or acknowledge how many the deposit system will affect"

That would be EVERY member and non member making a booking JVB.

Boomers had all the job choices-out of 1 job on Monday start another Tuesday, private pension & a state pension, cold weather payments, no medical bills, until recently a pension rise every year too🤷🏻‍♂️, there is nothing in boomer world to worry about for sure. The golden era👍🏻

Yes we did. Left school one Friday age 15 July 1967 the following Monday went to work, outdoor job hours of work 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday no private  pension scheme, no cold weather payment. Age 18 joined army spent 3 years there no private  pension scheme. Age 21 Left army became an HGV driver 15 or 16 hour days the norm no private pension scheme no cold weather payments, if heater worked you was lucky. When aged 30 the best thing happened got made redundant and fell on my feet. Got a public sector job with pension.
what I am saying is not all boomers had good jobs with good pensions and perks.

Has anyone got a suggestion for simple travel insurance to cover cancellations of booking and very little else?

Posted on 23/01/2022 19:28

If that really is all you want then the simplest way is not to make the ferry booking till you are ready to travel, and not to book overseas sites at all. But I think you really want more from travel insurance than just cancellation of bookings. For instance  we know an innocent driver who was crashed by a drunk inFrance- she had insurance pay for a long stay in a French hospital followed by an ambulance flight home escorted by a medic.

Yes, my suggestion is not to book at all. Use late availability to decide where you can go at short notice.

No real need for travel insurance if you are going tomorrow.

This is perhaps a question for JK, I have not sure its been discussed thus far but I may have missed it. So the question is what if you leave a site early? Currently if you leave a site early (not to go to a different site) you forfeit one nights site fees but get a refund for any days in excess of the one you forfeit. What happens in future? Logic would suggest that you no longer get any sort of refund. Is this how it will work under the new scheme?

Maybe I should rephrase that DT-‘all the boomers who chose a good job got one as there were plenty of em’ when you were a teenager you wouldn’t have got a ‘cold weather payment’ they were/are for pensioners👍🏻
