Normal HIDs will usually have a manual shutter on the back of the headlamp to mask the asymmetrical kick up to the left for driving on the 'wrong' side of the road.

My car has the adaptive head lights and like Deleted User User there is a setting in the menus for driving on the right hand side.

Thanks very much, I checked the handbook when I bought it but nothing, I’ve now checked the menus, yet again and now realise under Lighting-Traffic- L/R is possibly the answer. I’m assuming L/R means Left and Right hand drive, if that’s the case I’ve been on the wrong setting for the UK since I bought it. 

Did any of you take a spare bulb, I understand they’re pricey?

Thanks, life is now simpler for my trip but still would like opinions on lights, may buy a new Halfords pack to add to the old bag full of packs

Mercedes even suggest you take your car to them to adjust the shutter I described above. 😞

It is driving on the left or right, not which side the steering wheel is. 

As far as I am aware there is no legal requirement to carry spare bulbs.  However it is illegal to have a bulb not working, which is why all the vested interests tell you to buy a a set of spare bulbs.

As said above it is not safe to change xenons yourself as they operate at very high voltages.
