It's a request. Why be so awkward?

One of the CL's I often use has a request printed and displayed by the water point and on the field gate, "Please pay on arrival or soon after." Reason for this is the owner and his wife both work some days off the farm, and may out when members are due to leave. Owner has just phoned me to tell me about a member who arrived when they were out and had made no attempt to settle up for 3 days. Seeing the members by their van, the owner went over to introduce himself and check that they were alright. He was somewhat taken aback to be told they NEVER paid before they were due to leave and had NEVER been asked to do so before. Wouldn't listen to any explanation. Good job for them the owner is fairly laid back. Think I would have shown them the gate. Also had a good moan about how far the tap was from their pitch. Why book into a 4 acre CL if you want all amenities right next door?

End result...... they're blacklisted!!
