Hi all,

I am looking for some advice.

My company car is up for renewal this year. With the change in company car tax BIK rates etc I am at a loss as to what to go for. All very complicated and made no easier when hybrid cars are low in tax but unable to tow - I currently tow with a VW Tiguan 2l diesel.

My objective is to keep the company car tax as low as possible whilst still getting a decent towing car for my Bailey Pegasus 534.

Has anybody else gone through this who could offer some their experiences re clue ting a car?

Many thanks in advance.

M

I have seen Hibrid cars on sites one Volvo and one Mitsubishi both driver were "satisfied" with there towing capabilities about 20mile on Batt then engines take over until Batt recharged, all done automaticallysurprised

afraid haven't got a clue how company car tax works but could you not buy your own and then claim something back. could even buy the Tiguan.

Depends on how much your monthly allowance is with your company. I had this dilemma wanting an SUV but emissions tend to be higher and so hence higher tax bill. In the end went with Ford Kuga 2WD. I enjoy the car and was within my monthly allowance but would like lower tax bill. Looking at Volvo S90 next time (have increased monthly allowance) - 190bhp decent Kerbweight and relatively low emissions even with autobox

If you want to check the company car tax on the various models you are looking at, get a copy of WhatC car which lists all cars available and shows the tax. Long term it should pay for itself.
