Putting a towbar on a Skoda Octavia 1.9

The time has come for me to buy a new used tow car. My budget is small < £3000. Ideally, I would like to buy a SO1.9 with a tow bar already on - but they are quite scarce.

Is it straightforward to have a tow bar fitted? I recall reading somewhere that it was not. Also, how much might it cost?

A towbar can be fitted for anything between about £350-600 depending on a few things such as -

Fixed or detachable,

7pin wiring or 13 pin (depends on caravan you have)

Have a look at the PFJones or Witter websites where I'm sure the various options can be chosen and worked through to a price

I would also be tempted to buy the car without a tow bar and have one fitted - it may already have had a 'difficult' life???  MoodyJoudie on the post above yours has a quote for £350 inclusive for a Peugeot 3008.
