Petrol Tow Cars

I live in outer London and store our van in Kent. Our beloved London mayor has decreed that diesel cars are soon to be forbidden, and from 2021 I must pay £12.50 per day if I venture more than a mile from my house. So, my 5 year old Kia Sorento must go! Is there a suitable petrol alternative with enough oomph to tow my light weight Sprite Major (max weight 1600kg)? I have to say that the club's matching service is pathetic. If you are looking for suitable matches you have to enter make model etc. I'm seeking advice, if I knew what car I wanted I'd use the specific car mode.

Diesels are not being banned, they just have to be euro 6 or better. just upgrade your Diesel car if it doesn't qualify cool

i would agree with the last comment. Currently in a few days time, the only place you cannot enter is the ultra low emission zone, ie right in the centre, unless you want to pay The next phase will probably go to the North and South Circular. Euro 6 diesel are fine at the moment, but there is so much change and technological advances at the moment that i would personally wait and watch. One possible way forward is the new Toyota Rav 4 hydrid with a 1600kg max towing limit, but it is only just being launched at the moment. The Honda CRV hybrid is no good with a 750 towing limit, and the new VW Passat is just being launched with their new hybrid engine. However the downside is what is the fuel consumption towing and on long solo runs??
