Ford Kuga towbar

Looking at purchasing a 2017 Ford Kuga and trying to make a decision about the towbar.

Options are a fixed swan neck or a detachable swan neck, either would have vehicle specific wiring loom and a ECU re-code.

The question is would the fixed bar affect the reversing sensors (when not towing)?  Or do I have to go to the extra cost of a detachable towbar?

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has/had a Kuga, as to if the fixed bar is OK.

We have a 2017 Ford Kuga with a fixed Alko towball complete with the back plate no problem with the sensors.

The Zetec model does not have provision for a dedicated wiring.

Drc - we tow with a kuga 2016 model with a detachable swan neck. We have no problems with the parking sensors with the tow bar fitted and the caravan not attached.

No issues with the fridge/fog lights. We had our towbar fitted and recoded by a Ford dealer.

Hi drc, I have a VW Tiguan with a fixed tow bar and in the cars software for the sensors you can have them reset to accommodate the fixed tow bar, just something you can bare in mind, maybe kuga`s do not have this option who knows.
