I looked at these a few months ago...production not due to start until 2020 (in US) then possibly available to preorder following year in UK at £51K (current basic)...

Perhaps the club will be forward thinking and install charging points for electric vehicles (hopefully with a payment option to make them self financing)...

The real problem may be the range you get when towing, but that depends on how far you go. I have yet to wee a recharging point on the road that car take a car and caravan so in most cases you would have to unhitch sit around for a considerable time and then hitch up again. Until this is remedied it makes towing far more difficult than it should be.

The blurb for the car OP referred to said range 240 miles (solo) or 400 miles depending on version. Won't get an 80% charge in an hour on a CC site though at present!

If memory serves me well...there are various battery pack options available with a possible max mileage of around 400....but i do agree, charging points on the road are generally restricted to non towing vehicles...

I did read somewhere that these vehicles would incorporate "self charging" technology..

As JVB pointed out in the "green caravan" thread:-

The Hibrid bus fleet in London are being converted to strait [sic] diesel, as the batteries have been found to not to be capable

Here's a more up to date LINK for London buses.

Don't know much about Rivian except I read somewhere that Ford might be interested.
