Hi

I'm looking at a brand new X1 to to my 1500kg bailey. Is anybody towing with one of these  ?

It looks small but its 2000kg with 150 bhp so its similar stats as an x trail i used to tow with.

I have been towing with my X1 for five years and have to say it has been brilliant. I do however tow with a diesel 2 litre x drive not a sdrive 1.8, as I feel it would not tow my caravan.

I have and it gives me a perfect match for my Bailey with  MGW of 1500KG as does the caravan club matching service. I asked the question just to see if anybody is towing with one on here. Obviously i'm asking in the place as all the replies are from people who are self confessed experts which don't tow with one.

Never said I was an expert .... just questioned what the 2 tonne was that you were referring to and thought it might be on the light side. But as you're happy ......

if its a beamer your after then go for an X3 2l diesel or better still 3l or even better still X5.

Just make sure what ever you get it is one with some "extras"as it will be difficult to install the electrics for the c/van lights if the tow vehicle does not have direction indicatorscool

I could be pedantic ans say the lunar delta is nowhere near 18 ton its actually 15.5 ton. Please see your x trail comments above

You will need a tractor unit to pull something that heavysurprised being pedantic that iswink

Wow have you been on the booze, 15.5 & 18 ton really.

i wouldn't think any BMW car or 4x4 would tow that.
