Can anyone recommend a mobile repair man that will come on site and have a look at our van,

we’re staying in Bridlington caravan club site, 2 ladies and a child with little to no knowledge of caravan electrics,

started the holiday  all good, and gradually got worse as the weeks gone on , started with intermittent  water pressure now got no water coming through at all , bought new truma water pump ( still nothing) now the voltage reader in the van is saying 0 volts, so we’re sat in the dark, Darn’t turn anything on, fridge still on and showing it’s working on electric, have turned water heater off

x

Hi, it sounds like the leisure battery isn't being charged and has gradually run down....

I guess you are on EHU but perhaps the battery charger isn't turned on?

I can't help with where it might be sited but hopefully someone there, a neighbour might be able to help...

if there's someone around close to you, don't be afraid to knock on the door, it's only 9:26 and if it's off, it's only a second to turn it on.

good luck, stay warm all...

If the approach described by BB fails, speak to the wardens in the morning. Not only may they be able to help but they might know of someone who can and you need to make them aware of your intention to bring a technician on site.

You are on a club site so why not ask the wardens if, from their vast experience, they can help?

I had similar symptoms to you this summer whilst on a site.  Turned out to be the battery charger was u/s.  Warden had contact for a mobile engineer who came later that day and fixed it (ie repalaced it!).

Good luck.

I thought you didn't actually need a battery to run the 12V systems if the 240v is working and the charger is switched on. Maybe this is not the case if the charger is not working ( or if inadvertently switched off).

Hope you have the problem sorted now. Please do not be afraid to ask as, most of us are a friendly bunch and would be happy to help. Let us know if you have managed to get sorted.

most 12 volt systems require a battery in the circuit

 Just remembered the following -

When we were in France 5 years ago, our caravan battery went flat and we had it recharged at the local garage. It hardly lasted a day before it was flat again so I ditched the battery at the local garage and for the rest of the holiday just plugged in the EHU. Obviously the mover wouldn't work but the water pump and the 12v lights all worked without a battery in position.

I did say MOST ... your car will probably will run without its battery once started, but it's not a good idea, the battery will even out any voltage variations of the alternator.
