Interior lighting

Hello

I have an LMC 695 VIP and the interior lighting comes back on after about 30 seconds of switching it off, all on its own, even if you dim the lighting to the minimum then they come back on full wack after 30 seconds or so, does anybody have an idea as to what the issue might be ?

At the moment I have uncoupled the leisure batteries and removed the hook-up so as not to burn anything out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

Is it still under warranty. don't think having lights on will burn anything out so no need to disconnect the power. Probably better to give a dealer a call tomorrow.

Hi,

I have a LMC695 VIP 2019 and the same started happening with all my interior lights connected to the 4 point switch just inside the main door.

1. if I turn them off the lights they come back on after about 20-30 seconds.
2. if they are on and I set them to the lowest dimmer setting they go back to full brightness, again after about 20-30 seconds.

I contacted the dealer last night. Once I hear back I will let you know.

The main lighting in my Coachman is led and controlled by a momentary push rocker switch ie press & hold to from bright to dim to bright etc. I can only imagine that if yours is similar then some kind of electrickery in the switch has failed  🤔

I have the answer. This is not a fault. It is where the caravan’s lighting has changed to show mode.

To take it out of show mode:-

1, Turn on all the lights connected to the main door multipoint light switch.
2. now repeatedly press the awning light switch (marked with a red light) until all the lights go out.

The caravan should now be out of show mode and the lights will should not automatically switch on.

Hope  this helps.

Matt

Hiya

Lornalou......yes it is still under some sort of warranty, as it is only 16months old however the warranty holder/responsible people etc..........are ...............err................lets says a bit errant.

Emilysdad, yes i think this is a similar system, 4 way rocker type switch, from full on to dim then a click for off............so I suspected it might be the switch.

KjellNN see above answer to Emilysdad............which I think is on the right lines both of you, many thanks.

  Andy.

I tried all sorts of permutations to no avail...............but I have got the bottom of it........... if somebody fiddles with the switch loads of times (ie; your mother when you lend her your van for a well needed week away)  it goes into what is called 'showmode' I suppose thats self explanatory ie; for display purposes in a showroom, the way to get it out of showmode was to click the porch/awning light rapidly 5 times then it reverts to normal mode.............so no need for any new parts............every day is a school day eh :-)

apparently 'redface' it would appear so :-)      and as to whether you merely want them to go on and off would of course depend on personal preference ................mood lighting etc (assuming that you where in a mood............non-specific from my point of view) personally I do like the options that the teutonics give us............great build quality..............and errrrr...........quality........  :-)
