Blind pull handles keep snapping

Are they plastic?   How old?    Plastic can get brittle with age, especially if getting a lot of sun on it.

Mine have been snapping since I bought the caravan new in 2018!  Very poor design or you need kid gloves to handle them with!  I have just worked on a temporary solution because the lower blind has snapped and to keep it up attached to the fly screen I am using fold back clips (that normally are for paper)  the 51mm/2" ones work but are not very sightly!
