This club could be fantastic, if only it was to listen to its members, some reasons below;

1. Very slow website, cannot find a website as slow as this one, even ones you do not have to pay for!

2. Inability to search for fully serviced pitches (perhaps because they do not have many)

3. Being superseded by free forums such as Adults only caravan sites on Facebook

4. Wasting money, why does the club not ask all members if they need a magazine, I would have been happy to have an electronic version, also helping the environment

5. With all my posts asking for reasons for these issues not being addressed and approaching the site directly no action has been taken, or even reasons why they cannot

I have enjoyed the discussions on the site and interestingly my concerns have been covered several times by others. Note the times I go on the website has to be on off peak times due to the slow website.

It is sad that I will not be renewing my membership, as I do not intend to pay for membership where there is no official feedback from the club when issues are raised.

Hopefully I will rejoin when basic issues are sorted out.

We have been members for 5 years at first it was good nice clean friendly sites, at the time of the name change it started to become the miserable old fogies club so we started not using club sites as much, we have just come back from a club site & my first job Monday morning is canceling my membership.

I presume the camping & caravanning club call themselves the friendly club because the Caravan & Motorhome club is so miserable.

Having been a member of the C&CC for quite a few years now I can only conclude from my own personal experience that the use of the term "Friendly Club" is just a windup to score a point from the CMC. Nothing from my membership has ever given me the impression that the C&CC is any more friendly than the CMC, it is just a publicity stunt.

I am not altogether sure for your reasons for leaving the Club but that is your decision. I hope it all goes well for you.

It would be interesting to know who you are referring to? The people on site? the wardens? And what behaviour did you encounter?

Also if it is just based on one site (is it?) why apply that across the whole club?

Personally I judge sites not by those I'm sharing a site with (they are temporary anyway) but the site's facilities, isn't that more important?

Being a member of both and having used a few sites of each, whilst it is anecdotal, I do get the impression that C&CC sites are a bit more laid back.

Very strange post ,what has made you decide to cancel your membership ,apart from the change of name and logo?to a wall ice cream copy

There has been it seems a big increase in membership and where possible , new sites added also upgrades to many sites the membership is as for many years a broad spectrum of people

We have tried the ccc and not sure that the "friendly club" is correct

I think it's a strange post too. Having been a member (with a short break) since 1978 I don't see any change since the rebranding. I have never found the sites particularly friendly places and the most one can usually expect is a polite "good morning or afternoon" and even then one often has to speak first.

I feel the same when noting the miserable looks on some members, it does make one wonder whether to speak or not,is that why you needed to speek first

we do not normally find sites "unfriendly"

There are always going to be folk who are more private than others and, in my opinion, this is absolutely nothing to do with if it's a CAMC site, a C&CC site, or a privately owned site..
