Free Night Site Voucher on Renewal

On another forum someone has said that they were on a chat with a member of staff and asked if the club were going to give 3 months extra free membership this year due to sites being closed for 4 months nearly.  The club rep came out with the usual waffle about manning phones/supporting club etc. but did say they are giving a free site voucher on renewal but it seems not to everyone only those who ask for it.

Seems a little underhanded that only those who ask will get a  voucher and not a blanket policy, can someone from the club comment on this please and confirm if you have to ask for a voucher what is the best way of applying.

There seems to be an awful lot of "angst" here about what looks to me as more "cock up" than conspiracy, especially among club loyalists . There is little the club an do to lose my goodwill that went a long time ago but I recognise a mistake when I see it..

I don’t think it could ever be considered a conspiracy, David. That implies planning and efficiency of implementation.😏

If it makes you feel better , then do it, no point in bottling it up, if you feel venting your frustration on this forum is the way to go, but dont expect the CAMC to take much notice, well that is my experience, that is why i am relaxed about the whole experience, but am annoyed, but not about to give myself a heart attack for what, £25 or so undecided

I can understand your feelings for not wanting a heart attack 'Ruffs'. Me, mines good thanks, and allows me to show annoyance at times 👍

We do not know who is working from home regarding this event or if there are less staff available at present.

Duting the lockdown last year over 900 staff were furloughed including many from EGH and there is no  reason to think it has changed this time ,and numerous departments because they were unable to social distance in their own offices the staff were were working at home

Having read about this on another motorhome forum I contacted the CAMC to enquire about it. I was told that they are not giving 3 months extra on our yearly subscription but I could have a free night voucher instead although they are only valid until the end of June ! As we will not receive our second Covid jab until the end of May, & we probably will not be venturing out until then it does not leave much time to use this “complementary voucher” & although they were quick to point out its potential monitory value, its no where near as high with a June expiry date as a end of August one of course.

Perhaps not for yourself. However, the 28th May to 6th June period has the same rates as August.

It seems that there are many organisations/companies in the same boat since this covid problem came into the country ,having to adapt, with some having more success than others

You and your likes seem to have a lower opinion of the CAMC than even mewink

I try to keep an open mind and judge each issue on its merits rather than have a blanket opinion. This time I believe the club is found wanting.
