Free Night Site Voucher on Renewal

On another forum someone has said that they were on a chat with a member of staff and asked if the club were going to give 3 months extra free membership this year due to sites being closed for 4 months nearly.  The club rep came out with the usual waffle about manning phones/supporting club etc. but did say they are giving a free site voucher on renewal but it seems not to everyone only those who ask for it.

Seems a little underhanded that only those who ask will get a  voucher and not a blanket policy, can someone from the club comment on this please and confirm if you have to ask for a voucher what is the best way of applying.

Just looks like a petulant display by a lot of jealous members who are throwing  their dummies out because someone else has had a voucher and they haven't.

Do you really think so?

I think it's pretty clear that it's the perception of inequality of treatment by bribing some to remain members whilst ignoring those who have renewed without fuss that bugs the majority of people.

I certainly wouldn't describe fellow posters as jealous or throwing their dummies out. Far from it.

We must have nearly £100 of vouchers in the drawer, gift vouchers that is, might even be past their sell by date, so I am not going to get all steamed up over a free night voucher, someday we might use a club site and the vouchers if still valid. But agree with many its the principle that counts, but as i said previously all businesses etc are at it laughing, we have been members of the AA for too long, but they still try to stich us up come renewal.

I pays to be disloyal.

It would certainly seem so although I had a pleasant surprise this month, my car insurance renewal was £30 cheaper for the year. That is the first time ever it has gone down without searching for quotes or altering the cover.

But the big question is:  Would you have got better / cheaper if you have shopped around as normal?

+1 PD👍🏻, a mate has got the same-slight reduction. I wonder if it’s a thing this year with us not using the vehicles as much🤷🏻‍♂️

I looked around last year and my current insurance company was the best value then so is probably still the best value now - I have had a couple of email quotes from companies I contacted last year and they are way above my prospective renewal. In addition, as my wife's car is insured with the parent company ( Aviva ) we also get a percentage discount for a second car. Very happy with Quote me happy!    laughing
