Great site in a lovely area

Glen of Aherlow
Cannot fault the site itself. Very well kept with excellent facilities. Lots of lovely walks locally but took the car to starting points as not keen to walk along the road. Went to Tipperary for the day - very disappointing but found Cashel a much better option. Nearby Aherlow House Hotel a great option for evening meal or lunch. Would recommend for 3/4 night stop.

Fabulous site, wonderful views, spotless facilities and great free wifi.  Would recommend a visit to the tourist information centre behind the pub..a mine of information. All in all a gem of a site in the Emerald Isle.

The Jewel of Ireland

Glen of Aherlow
Let me start be saying what a wonderful place this truly is. For those who this is the first trip to Ireland you can’t go far wrong here. We just came back from a week using the Glen of Aherlow as our base for the week. If you have longer I would recommend you spend a week here then some time over on the west coast so you have time to limit the amount of travel you need to do. 300 yards up the road behind the local pub is a tourist information centre, they like everyone you meet in Ireland are so welcoming and full or great ideas it makes for a good idea to visit here early in your trip to see what you want to do. We fitted loads into our week like Cahir, Blarney etc (all the usual tourist haunts) The camp itself got really busy over the bank holiday weekend which made for some queues to use facilities however the rest of our stay was perfect, similar facilities to that on the CC. In the men’s loo’s there are urinal’s, three cubicles and then just two showers – theres also a games room for the kids and a TV room. Serviced pitches doesn’t mean the same as it does in the CC. Services are one between two pitches and although you will get water and electricity close to your pitch it may not be fully serviced where you can plug directly into the water. We were lucky and found a pitch where no one came next to us and therefore had the luxury of plugging directly in. Great place, lovely owners and the met some great friends onsite too. TV reception is poor unless you have satellite but WIFI is good enough to enable TV viewing providing you have VPN to enable you to see back in the UK. Fuel is best in Mitchelstown at the MAXOL on the way into the town centre and you can pay on your card there too – Unlike others we found!. Well done to George and all at the park for working so hard and making such a wonderful stay – already looking forward to coming back. 100% would recommend!
