Hidden Gem!

Bromyard Downs Club Campsite
Sandra and Sean, the Site Managers, are a real credit to CAMC. From spotlessly clean service points to manicured gravel roads and pitches. The ‘little touches’, spring plants, ornaments and well tendered grass…..this Site just oozes Site Management pride. We had a warm welcome here, and together with the local knowledge of the area that Sandra and Sean offer we were never short of exploration ideas. Definitely on our “revisit list’. Thankyou for your hospitality. Mr&Mrs Whisky.

A Great Little Site

Bromyard Downs Club Campsite

We have recently returned from a tour and Bromyard was our last stop. It was our first visit and certainly won't be our last, as the team, Sandra and Shaun, that run it are fantastic wardens and for them nothing is too much trouble and they were always on hand to offer advice and support even after 6pm when they were supposedly not meant to be on duty. Although the facilities on this site are limited we gave it a score of 4 * because that includes cleanliness and the place was spotless. The site is well located bordering Herefordshire, Shropshire and Warwickshire meaning that there is easy access to many places and nearby you are just spoilt for choice with many footpaths on the doorstep. The Fountain in Tenbury Wells offers an extensive menu for a reasonable price and their Steak and Ale Pie is fantastic. The Royal Oak on the A6 does a good carvary with an over 65s menu, which includes a dessert for £13.50 (April 2024). I've said it's good for families and that is because there is a lot to do in the locale but it's important to note it doesn't have a play area, so if that's important this is not the site for you. It's right on the A6 but we found we didn't hear the traffic much at all and it's certainly a peaceful place with lots of bird life to observe. If there are any criticisms of the site I think this sits with the club. The road up to the upper pitches really needs resurfacing, as it is quite slippy. Speaking to the wardens I understand the road will be cleaned and some of the larger holes fixed but it should be resurfaced imo. A dog wash would be a nice addition, as Bromyard Downs is quite muddy after all the rain - again a bit more investment from the club and maybe a return to the wardens being available until 8pm, which, I believe, is the norm for larger sites.

Little Oasis

Bromyard Downs Club Campsite
We loved this site it had everything we wanted. The wardens were the friendliest we have ever come across, nothing was to much trouble for them. The site was kept immaculate with their own added touches. They had ornamental flower beds and bird feeders dotted around the site with lots of birds paying a visit. All these little extras made our 4 night stay wonderful and relaxing.

Relaxing here

Bromyard Downs Club Campsite
Bromyard downs club site Been here several times over the years and always felt safe and comfortable, this site has no whistles and bells but it has bags of charm. If you just want to relax this a great place, there is road noise from A44 but it certainly doesn't bother us.The welcome from the warden's are so friendly and helpful and can't do enough to help.Very good dog walk which goes just off site and the National Trust property of Brockhampton is just across the main road. Just had another short break and will be back very soon, for us 5 stars.
