Why stay here ...

Located in the delightful market town of Minchinhampton with an adjacent 580 acre Common, Charity Barn CL is the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful Cotswold countryside with plenty of walks and cycle rides on offer. Surrounded by a choice of pubs and restaurants within walking distance, spectacular views can be enjoyed across the five valleys. On a clear day the River Severn can be seen winding its way across the landscape.

The lovely old market town of Minchinhampton is just a 10-minute walk away. Many of its old Cotswold stone buildings and narrow streets are mentioned in the Doomsday book. In Minchinhampton you will find a chemist, convenience store, family butcher, coffee shops and two pubs. The quirky town of Stround is just 3 miles away with an award-winning farmer market every Saturday, voted "Best in Country".

Other nearby attractions include the Georgian town of Bath, a 30-minute drive with Cheltenham 20 minutes and Cirencester 15 minutes away.

Charity Barn CL site is next to Minchinhampton Golf Course, which is renowned for its year round immaculate presentation.

For animal lovers, you will enjoy a very warm welcome from our four donkeys: Blue, Bramble, Charlie and Larry. Dogs are also welcome on site; plus, most local pubs are happy to accommodate them.

All made from local produce, we can offer our guests delicious homemade cakes and meals on request, courtesy of our 25 year family run business, Honeysuckle Catering.

We look forward to welcoming you at Charity Barn CL and ensuring your stay is as enjoyable as possible!

Lovely stay

Site right on Minchinhampton common, brilliant walks with the dog right out of the gate. 10mins walk to the town, with a cafe, pub and small convenience store, all you need. Lovely walks a bit further afield, and Stroud and Nailsworth both worth a wander. The Weighbridge at Longs Ford, go... Show more

Superb, welcoming, peaceful site with stunning views

We are repeat customers at this site, and especially appreciate the warm welcome. The sunsets are divine on this peaceful, rural site which is one of our favourites. The dark skies are glorious for star-gazing and it's a great spot to enjoy walks across the common, which has... Show more

Definitely worth the stay.

The site is quiet and has lovely views. It’s away from the built up area so star gazing is a must. On a nice clear night the stars are amazing with a great sunset too. There are a few great pubs on the common and the most amazing ice cream... Show more

Small, noisy at times, security issues, location excellent

This is a small site, with corresponding smaller than average pitches. It is located off the owner’s drive and it feels like you are staying in a lay-by. It abuts a school playing field, so can be noisy during the day. Also the groundsmen start early. The gate into the... Show more

Very nice, but a bit misleading for us.

Nice site, tucked into a corner by the owners drive. 5 pitches that are smaller than average, about 10m between each one. You would need a 20m hookup lead if you were on the first or last pitch. Each have Gravel pitches, that are about the size of a vehicle.... Show more

Up on the common - watch for Horses

Nice quite site within easy walking distance of quaint Minchinhampton and it's unique Church and pub. Great food at the pub which is recently refurbished but retains old world look and has it's own beer brand !! . Site itself is on old Alpaca farm but only Donkeys now there.... Show more

Can't fault it

Really enjoyed our 6 nights at this super site. Services were all easily accessible, all hard standing pitches, level site, owners live on site, very friendly although we hardly saw them! Right on the common (free range cattle and horses but a cattle grid prevented them joining us).... Show more

Peaceful and Relaxing

Lovely site, peaceful and relaxing. The only noise was made by the donkeys. Plenty of walking nearby and lovely people on site. Able to choose our pitch and plenty of space to park and site outside. There is a pub within walking distance, however due to... Show more

Peaceful and well maintained

A stay of two nights on this well maintained site. Gravel hard standing - you might need a block to totally level up. we noticed others using them. We overshot the entrance and ended up half a mile away in Minchinhampton, which looked interesting and picturesque to explore... Show more
