Great news - the first phase of the redevelopment to improve our hugely popular Abbey Wood Campsite starts in January 2025 with the site remaining open throughout the works. This first phase will include the closure of one of the three facilities blocks for refurbishment and the play area. Phase two improvements are scheduled for autumn 2025. We want to ensure you have the best time when travelling to and staying on our UK Club campsites. From time to time there may be important information you need to be aware of ahead of your arrival.
Check the list below for the latest updates on our UK Club campsites. This list is updated on a daily basis, so we'd recommend you check back the day before you travel.
Campsite arrival times
The earliest arrival time at most campsites is now 1pm.
This is to allow our site teams to get your pitch ready and avoid congestion for members leaving their pitch. Please make sure you factor into your journey a location where you can park and rest if you think you may arrive at the campsite prior to 1pm. For the most up to date arrival times, please check the individual campsite webpage.

BBQ usage on our Club campsites
Please note: During periods of extended dry weather and widespread drought conditions it may be necessary to restrict the use of BBQs on some Club campsites. Please check with site staff on arrival to confirm the latest guidance onsite.
FREE WiFi hotspots
Please note that we are currently upgrading onsite Wi-Fi across our UK Club campsites. During installation on site there will be use of machinery, any disruption will be kept to a minimum. For a short period of time there may be limitations to the Wi-Fi service provided and a FREE Wi-Fi hotspot only. Please see camc.com/wifi for further information.
Clean Air Zones
Many UK cities are starting to introduce 'Clean Air Zones', please visit camc.com/cleanairzones for further information and to check if charges apply for your journey.
Motorised/ Ride-on Leisure Equipment
Please note: Ride on leisure equipment is not acceptable on Club Campsites, in line with government rules on public roads. Motorised and battery operated equipment on site are acceptable for use by disabled and mobility restricted guests to allow them to access the relevant areas of the site as required. They need to be operated in line with the traffic management system and abide by the speed limit, and users must show consideration for other guests at all times when using the equipment.

The Bristol Triathlon is on 6 July and a number of access roads to site will be closed to all traffic between 3am - 5pm. This event will not affect journeys coming off/on the M4/M32 but guests using the M5 please use the following directions:
- M5 ARRIVALS - A4 Portway, J18 off M5 is CLOSED. Exit M5 at J19. Follow A369 into Bristol. At roundabout, take 1st exit onto A370, and take the first exit to the left (SP Bedminster and Temple Meads station). Continue on A370 Coronation Rd until the roundabout. Take 1st exit onto Commercial Road. At mini roundabout, take 1st exit onto Cumberland Road. The site is 0.5 mile on the right.
- M5 DEPARTURES - A4 Portway is CLOSED. Head for J19 via A369 to reach M5. Exit LEFT from site (bus gate is suspended until 5pm). At mini roundabout, take 2nd exit over bridge onto Commercial Road. At roundabout take 5th exit onto A370 Coronation Road, follow this until the road splits. Keep left to exit to A370 (SP Weston-s-Mare A370, Bristol Airport). Stay in left lane, exit onto A3029. Use right lane (for Portishead). At roundabout take 2nd exit to A369. Follow this to Gordano Services (J19) of M5.
We are now accepting bookings for stays up to 21 July 2025 at Baltic Wharf Club Campsite. Please note that there is a slight risk our lease may be terminated early by the landlord. If you are booked to stay in late July and we need to cancel your booking, any payment you have made will be fully refunded. Our nearest alternative campsites are Cheddar Club Campsite and Bath Chew Valley Affiliated Club Campsite.
The Bristol Clean Air Zone covers the central part of Bristol between Bristol Temple Meads Station and the A3029, including Cumberland Road and Baltic Wharf Club Campsite. Click here for more information.

The annual New Forest and Hampshire County Show will be taking place on the 29, 30 and 31 July. For tickets and show information please click Here. This event will increase traffic volumes on route and along Aldridge Hill (the access road to the campsite) which is narrow with limited passing places. To avoid peak traffic periods of oncoming vehicles, please avoid arriving between 4-6 pm, and for departures we suggest leaving site between 10am - 12 noon.

There will be a Temporary Traffic Order to close the road for essential Ash Dieback tree work, resulting in the A429 being closed in sections between the junction of A429 and A424 Fosseway down to the junction of the A40 and A429 near Northleach. Sections of this road will be closed to all traffic from 9:30 to 15:30 daily - 30 June to 4 July inclusive. Diversions will be in place but please pre-plan your journey with this in mind.

From 16 June for approximately 14 weeks junction 26 of the M5 and the A38 Chelston link road near Wellington will be undergoing a major resurfacing project and will be completely closed. Diversions will be in place, please plan your journey carefully.

The A435 Evesham Road will be fully closed in both directions between the Cheltenham Racecourse roundabout and the Hyde Lane/Southam Lane junction from 2 June-8 September. The Gloworm Festival will take place at the nearby Thoresby Estate between 8 - 10 August. Historically, this event finishes by about 22:00pm, but there may be music heard by members staying on this Club site.
There will be roadworks taking place on Limetree Avenue during June/July. This was not due to affect access to the site. However, one of the entrances will now be closed and some signage is unclear. We recommend that arriving guests use the Carburton or Truman entrances, if arriving before 3:30pm.

The M6 Slip Way Junction 42 Northbound is closed from 9 June to 4 July. Follow the alternative route to the site from the South:
- Continue on the M6, exit at junction 43, rejoin the M6 southbound exiting at junction 42, take B6263 (sp Wetheral) and then follow directions as stated in the Site Directory Handbook or web page.
- OR enter site postcode CA4 9SY on google maps, exit M6 junction 41 Northbound, follow the signs for A6 Carlisle continue until to reach the roundabout at the Golden Fleece Service Station then follow the sign for B6263 (sp Wetheral) follow the directions in the Site Directory Handbook or webpage.
- Please allow extra time for your journey. Reception closes at 6pm (Friday 7pm). Bookings cannot be accepted after these times. If you have already made a booking you can arrive up to 8pm, if you are arriving after this time please call the site on 01228 560202 to obtain your arrival information.

From 11 to 15 November the road into Dulverton will be closed with diversions in place from Exebridge.
Junction Road is permanently closed please use an alternative route, from the North on the A21 head towards Battle A2100 via the Johns Cross roundabout, follow this until you reach The Ridge Way and merges onto the B2093, directions after that are the same as on the website.
Whilst the site is less busy, the East Side of the site will be out of use. We expect to open this part of the site by Easter, weather permitting. The playground will be accessible but will have pedestrian access only.

The site has an intermittent electricity supply fault and there may be short outages especially during exceptionally cold weather. The site has taken delivery of a generator to help with the flow of electricity when demand is high, this may cause some noise disturbance during its occasional use.
The late night arrival area is grass with no electricity and only available in an emergency. Please call the site before using as this is not available in heavy rain, icy or snowy conditions.
This site will no longer be able to accept arrivals on race days, as stipulated by the Racecourse, to ensure the safety and care of the animals. Departures on race days will be permitted before 11am only.

The annual Wilkswood Reggae Festival is being held in the village of Langton Matravers on 24-27 July, approximately 1.5 miles from Site. The A6033 between Oxenhope and Hebden Bridge is currently closed until the end of July in both directions. Please follow these directions - At Oxenhope follow the B6141 to Denholme and then join the A629 to Halifax. From there follow the A58 and finally the A646 to Mytholmroyd. Turn left onto the B6138 signposted Littleborough. The site is located on the right hand side approximately 1 mile from the turning.
The junction of the A646 Burnley Road and B6138 New Road (to the Club site) will be closed for road works on Saturday 28 June at 8:00am until Sunday 29 June 6:00pm Pedestrian access will be available. Please use the A58 from Halifax or Rochdale and then the B6138 to enter/exit site. Please do not use Caldene Avenue and Thrush Hill Road in Mytholmroyd due it being very narrow with a low train bridge.

Following the installation of the upgraded Wi-Fi at this campsite, there have been some technical issues which are affecting the quality of the Wi-Fi on the Kettlegrove side of the site. Southern Gas will be carrying out major gas works resulting in the nearby level crossing being closed for the duration of works, expected to be for six weeks, starting on Saturday 17 May. Please follow the sign posted three mile diversion to get you to the site.
Longleat Safari Park is holding its Festival of Light event from 8 November to 11 January (Longleat Campsite closes on 4 January). During quieter occupancy periods, and in order to be as efficient as possible from a financial and sustainability perspective, please be advised that the facility block located at the Northern end of the site may not be in use. The nearest petrol station to the site is 'Gulf Lix Toll Fuel Express' but has no petrol or diesel available until further notice. Alternative fuel stations are located in Callander (23 miles from site), Aberfeldy (22 miles from site) and Tyndrum (19 miles from site).
Due to the close proximity of the river there is a possibility that the site may flood during periods of heavy and persistent rain. The annual Tewkesbury Medieval Festival is on 12-13 July and is the largest free medieval re-enactment and fayre in Europe. During this event, please be aware of traffic and pedestrian volumes which will be higher than normal. Please take care on your journey and follow the directions on the 'Map' tab on our campsites webpage.
Please note: this Club campsite is situated near the River Severn and the River Swilgate tributary. Following periods of prolonged and heavy rainfall, river levels may rise causing the tributary to occasionally breach. The access road to site can then become inaccessible and the site might be affected by flooding during these events. Notice to dog owners: Incidents of dogs falling ill following a visit to the woodland on the Sandringham Estate can be reported between the months of August and November. The Jockey Club are holding Christmas events on 6, 11, 12, 13 and 19 December to celebrate the seasonal festivities. The annual Boomtown Music Festival will be held in the Matterley Estate on 6-10 August. This festival features an eclectic array of music genres and is for adults over the age of 18. This festival attracts a large audience so please be aware of higher traffic volumes than normal in this area. You may also hear the festival at times from site. Please note: this Club campsite is situated within York Flood Defense boundaries. If river levels rise, the Environmental Agency close the flood barriers to protect local housing. When the Environmental Agency take the decision to activate the defense it is often at short notice and York Rowntree site has to be evacuated. The access road to the site is inaccessible and the site is also likely to be affected by flooding during these events. Before you travel to site, please call the sites Flood Advice line on 01904 593791 for the latest information.
