We are staying near Perpignan for two weeks and will be driving back across to get the ferry from Bilbao - so have a couple of stops along the way, One is Camping InNature, Arques.

Never stayed there before but the photos and reviews look good. But was wondering what the roads are like between Perpignan and Arques. They are mainly D routes and that could mean anything from a track to a nice wide main road.

Anyone got any experience of the area??

Google Earth can give you a reasonable indication of what the roads are like. A lot of D roads in France are often very good but as you suggest it pays to check.

An interesting route ! But if were driving from Perpignan to Bilbao it  would be  via  Lerida and Zaragoza and explore some historic places in Spain.

route is dependant on availability of sites for the 3 nights between the ferry arriving in Bilbao and getting on site in Perpignan and the same on the way back.

We have found some lovely sites for the trip, so not a direct route and some lovely areas to discover
