Bolton Abbey Club Campsite is one of the prettiest locations on the network - it is part of the Bolton Abbey estate and located in an open glade surrounded by woodland and the glorious Yorkshire Dales.  The site attracts lots of wildlife with ducks, pheasants, other birds and squirrels often congregating around the site. Within the boundaries of the estate are some 75 miles of footpaths through moors, woods and farmlands, all easily accessible from this North Yorkshire campsite. The woods include some lovely dog walks. The ruins of the 12th century Bolton Priory stand on a placid curve of the River Wharf and have been painted by Turner and Landseer as well as earning praise from Wordsworth.

Skipton is a mere 9 miles away from the Bolton Abbey Club Campsite and is an historic town with traditional cobbled streets and a picturesque canal to wander along. There is also a regular street market and well preserved medieval fortress, which are a must for visitors to the campsite. Skipton also serves as the starting point for one of England's most beautiful train journeys - the Settle to Carlisle line.

The nearby pretty village of Grassington offers stunning views, gorgeous stone buildings, shops and pubs. The Yorkshire Dales is home to a variety of tearooms and cafes, offering the perfect opportunity for refreshments after a busy day exploring. Dusty Bluebells is reported to serve delicious local produce and fine teas and coffees. The Red Lion at Burnsall and the Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey are great options for places to eat and drink that are not too far from the site. Both pubs are an easy 3 mile riverside walk away, in opposite directions.

Warm and friendly welcome ☺

OCT24: Great welcome, as usual ☺ Immaculately kept site in all aspects, in particular pitches, surroundings and toilet / shower facilities 💦 Very effective communication, both from the Site Management - Lawrence and Yvonne, or should I say: Parker and Lady Pen 😂, as well as the signage throughout the site... Great area and clean site but….

First a word of warning. The archway at Bolton Abbey is only 2.8m wide. This is clear in the directions leaflet but should be more evident in the general description. Our van and caravan only just fitted through after removing the extension mirrors of fthe Van (VW Transporter). Bolton... Show more

Great wardens, Yvonne and Laurence are very special. Always go the extra mile to help.

How sad that Yvonne and Laurence are moving on, we will miss them and their great sense of humour. The site is now due for some investment in order to ensure the facilities are truly up to date hence only 4 stars given against some of the tick boxes. Now looking forward... Show more
