Troutbeck Head Club Campsite in Penrith is set in classically beautiful north Lake District countryside, and is conveniently only 4 miles from the restaurants and shops of Ullswater. A fabulous getaway for nature lovers and walkers, the campsite nestles in a picturesque valley alongside a babbling brook.

Situated 10 miles from Keswick and below the Great Mell Fell, the site has spectacular views of Blencathra to the west and provides access to some of the prettiest walks in the country. For superb views of the central mountains, a drive over the dramatic Kirkstone Pass is not to be missed. This will lead you to Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere, where you can sample the local restaurants and explore some of Wordsworth's favourite haunts. A lake cruise on Ullswater is a must, with the option of a scenic walk between Howtown and Glenridding (only 7 miles away). For the energetic, the Rookin House Farm Centre next door to the caravan site offers plenty of fun activities - quad bikes, archery, go-karting, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding and much more.

The site provides easy access to numerous lakes, mountains, valleys & rivers, whilst pretty villages, country pubs and farm shops are plentiful, making Troutbeck the ideal destination for exploring and relaxing in the Cumbrian countryside.

Please Note: Reception at this site may close earlier than 8pm and staff may not be available to greet you. If this is the case, don’t worry, you can still arrive on site until 8pm. Excellent

We have stayed at Troutbeck many times, lovely site in lovely location with excellent facilities. However they have changed the times for cleaning facility block, 9:15 am. Which was ok for us but I wondered how this will work when site is full with families.
