Maragowan Club Campsite is a picturesque family holiday location nestled on the bank of the River Lochay in Scotland. The campsite is within comfortable walking distance of the quaint little holiday town of Killin where you can idle the time away in the various shops and restaurants. It is also conveniently located on the circular Heart 200 Scottish touring route.

Maragowan Club Campsite includes a well-equipped facility for babies and toddlers under 4 years old where parents can tend to the little ones in comfort. It also puts you within easy reach of a wealth of fun outdoor activities. There is a 9-hole golf course and trout fishing is permitted in the river - just see the site staff during office hours to obtain a permit. Cycling routes, including the National Cycle Route 7 and the Rob Roy Way, are in close proximity and mountain bikes can be hired in the village of Killin. Kayaking, hill walking and mountaineering can all be undertaken from the caravan site. Walking can be enjoyed by all abilities, with numerous Munros, Corbetts and pleasant hill walks within a few miles of the site.

For a step back in time with scenic beauty, visit Loch Katrine and enjoy a Sir Walter Scott steamer cruise. For the more adventurous, there are water sports centres close by at Lochearnhead and Kenmore on Loch Tay, where small boats can be launched into the loch. Scenic drives up the Glens where local wildlife abounds are also not to be missed when visiting this idyllic campsite. A butcher's van visits the site every Friday afternoon. Local offers include 10% discounts on meals at some restaurants in the village, ask the site staff for more details.

Please Note: Reception at this site may close earlier than 8pm and staff may not be available to greet you. If this is the case, don’t worry, you can still arrive on site until 8pm. First visit and certainly not the last

Lovely wee site next to the river, you cant fail to be impressed by the beautiful surrounding area. Lovely staff, and a nice well kept site. Our first visit, but certainly won’t be our last.

Waste management.

Poor waste management, no bins around the site. Waste has to be taken to the main entrance, those with limited mobility, elderly will have issues using the bins. Toilets and showers are in need of an update.

Great walks and the Courie!

Whilst this site may be older and the facilities not as new as some of the other sites we had a lovely visit even though it poured down! The way that the electrical points are higher than most sites, shows this site being so close to the river, has... Show more

Tired looking & requiring modernisation

Tired looking campsite requiring modernisation. The toilet block needs a complete revamp. The water draining from the showers is in a communal drain . The doors from some of the cubicles for washing were missing. The hair drier was at the washhand basins for the toilets & where... Show more

Great facilities!

Very conveniently located site by Killin. We had a great couple of days hiking on Ben Lawers and the Tarmachan Ridge nearby, also enjoyed seeing the historic Moirlanich longhouse. Very good facilities on site, the only thing we lacked was somewhere to freeze our coolblocks...Cheers, Linda and Stewart

Lovely location for walking, facilities clean but could use upgrade

Beautifull location, lovely walk to Loch Tay just from the campsite. Or to the Falls of Dochart via the old railway path. Also walking distance to the village and shops/restaurants/fish&chips van. Facilities are clean but could use an upgrade. Very friendly welcome.

Beautiful location and area.

Spacious pitches and sufficient services albeit the facilities could use a fresh coat of paint. Hestitant to book initially due to the negative reviews of the facilities but the site is great in every aspect. Agree with earlier reviews that the facilities block is comprehensive, clean and quite functional but could... Show more

Disappointing return after 17 years

We last visited 17 years ago, at the time we were impressed with the site I recall; however the club appears to have invested very little in this site in the preceding 17 years, the facilities block, whilst clean, was in desperate need of refurbishment, the floors in particular are... Show more
