Things to do when camping in Norfolk

The seaside village of Hunstanton is a must-see tourist attraction in Norfolk. It’s a 4.6 hectare biological and geological site, with famous red and white striped cliffs that line the seafront and seals that visit the sandbanks through the summer. Norfolk welcomes more and more seals every year so it’s great for seal watching, as is the beach at Horsey Gap or a boat trip to Blakeney Point.

Another incredibly historic site to visit is the beautiful Victorian Cromer Pier. What started as a simple jetty in 1391, it then reopened to the pier we know today in 1901. It’s a great day out for all the family to enjoy with lots of activities on the pier. Crabbing is free from the pier and a great way for kids to connect with nature and enjoy some sea air!

Norwich’s 33 medieval churches and the largest covered permanent market in Europe are just a couple of reasons to explore the historic city, or for a dose of adrenaline take to the trees at Go Ape! at High Lodge in Thetford Forest (Members save 10% with the Great Saving Guide). For a more grown-up outing visit the English Distillery and sample their award-winning whiskies, or discover one of the many vineyards across the area.

There are so many places to visit in Norfolk that many come back year after year. The cobbled streets of King’s Lynn are great for shopping, especially on Tuesdays when there is a large weekly market. The Broads National Park boasts over 120 miles of navigable waterways, perfect for exploring by kayak or by boat. The Royal country retreat of Sandringham Estate has conservation at its heart and the House and Gardens are usually open to the public from March to October. The stunning Norfolk coast has something for everyone from the seaside attractions of Great Yarmouth, including the Sealife Centre aquarium, to the quieter beaches of Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham.
