Attractively set within 400 acres of Scottish parkland, Balbirnie Park Club Campsite offers a variety of walks, some of which are suitable for cycling, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The site is great for dog owners, with plenty of open space and woodland, and is a great holiday location for everyone in the family. You have a choice of pitches: those grouped in open areas and surrounded by statuesque mature trees or others located in charming shady glades.
The nearby village of Markinch is only steps away and offers grocery shops, a post office, restaurants, bars and cafes, most of which offer free WIFI and are dog friendly.
The stunning beaches of Elie, Leven and St Monans are just a short drive away, as well as as award winning fish and chips shop in Anstruther. The beautiful Falkland Palace and gardens are also only 5.5 miles from site and well worth a visit.
The railway station, just 15 minutes’ walk from the site, provides direct links to Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth. Why not take a day trip to Edinburgh, just an hours’ train ride away that crosses the spectacular Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bus also stops directly outside the site making access to the local area easy.
For a more active way to spend the day visit Glenrothes and Kirkaldy sporting facilities or go swimming, ten pin bowling, ice skating, go carting or horse riding (all within five miles of the site). There is also a golf club in Balbirnie Park and a further 30 courses in Fife including the famous St Andrews course. The Balbirnie Park Club Site enjoys the annual Highland games for Markinch & Glenrothes located just opposite in the John Dixon Park, every first weekend in June. Enjoy traditional bagpipes, dancing, tug of war and caber throwing.

Such a lovely, peaceful site and genuinely relaxing. Staff were welcoming and friendly, excellent facilities too. If you're looking for a base to explore the coastline, this is the spot. Handy for shops close by, walks just outside the gate too.

Ideally suited for exploring Fife. This lovely, easily found and easily accessible site was a joy to stay in. We had pitch 82 down the far end of the site where we had both sunshine and shade on a grass pitch which despite all the recent rain had... Show more

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay and would definitely consider returning for longer. The key to this site is choosing your pitch, I wouldn’t want to be on the pitches adjacent to the residential properties but the pitch we had, higher up near the woodland was perfect. Major plus for this... Show more

Began stay on April 13 2024 for 5 days. Site pleasant and well tended by wardens Andy & Rachael. They always appeared to be out on the site dealing with upkeep and nurturing the floral beds and displays. Despite the excessive April showers, the site was kept tidy and well organised.
