Enjoyable stay

Ayr Craigie Gardens Club Campsite
We stayed on this site for 5 nights from May 22nd 2024. We were made very welcome by Kate when we arrived who gave us lots of excellent local information. The site was very clean and tidy and well organised and John was always out on site and friendly and smiling despite the pouring rain. The facilities were always very clean and tidy but agree with previous comments that they could do with a refurb. There is plenty to do in the area, Culzean Castle is a must. Nice walks from the site and Ayr is an easy walk in, Morrisons nearby for fuel and groceries. Pitches are well maintained as is the site in general. No problems with electricity on May 22nd as in previous comments. Overall pleasant stay on this excellent site with very friendly staff. We will be back on our next trip to Scotland M & L

Nice Site 10 minutes walk from town.

Ayr Craigie Gardens Club Campsite
Had a 3 night stay at Craigie gardens, site is a good size with decent sized pitches and is well maintianed by the very friendly staff, as others have commented the toilet block is looking a bit dated but it was clean with hot showers with good water pressure, town is around a 10 minute walk if you cut through the university campus but sadly Ayr like a lot of small coastal towns has suffered years of neglect and is not what it used to be, very sad as all the people we spoke to we so friendly and welcoming, ate out at The Bistro on Sandgate and it was excellent and very busy even on a Sunday evening, well worth a try if you're staying at the site.

Very tired facilities

Ayr Craigie Gardens Club Campsite
My husband and I were due to stay at this site for 4 nights but cut it down to 3. We got to the site to be told the electricity would be off for 5 days with no prior notice. The onus should be on the Caravan Club to let you know things like this. We had booked the site in December 2023. The showers and toilets were really tired. We used our own facilities. Ayr is a walk away but not very nice in fact I felt unsafe walking around there and I am a retired Police Officer. The members comment in the Caravan club book may have been true at some point but certainly isn’t now. I didn’t think that the walk along the river to the beach was lovely. Ayr is a very run down and deprived town as we were reminded by a notice in the laundry room asking for food donations for the local school. I wouldn’t knowingly choose a holiday destination in this area. I certainly wouldn’t return.

Not made welcome! Won't be back!

Ayr Craigie Gardens Club Campsite
My wife and I have stayed at Ayr Craigie Gardens on numerous occasions in recent years, we had booked and paid for two nights on this recent visit, we stayed one night, made quick, alternative arrangements and left at our first opportunity. We have further decided to change our touring procedures and will not be using Ayr Craigie Gardens in the foreseeable future.

3 day visit

Ayr Craigie Gardens Club Campsite
I had a three day visit while visiting friends in the locality. Site was clean and well organised. Showers and toilets were clean but perhaps beginning to get to the stage of needing a revamp. Although there was plenty space between the pitches it was a bigger and busier site than I would normally choose, that is the primary reason for my lower scores. Town centre was a fairly short walk away but is beginning to get a little run down. Having said that there are some nice bistros once you find them.
